Vegas, baby! Brainwave is going to Sporcle TriviaCon

Bright light city gonna set my soul, gonna set my soul on fire.

My trivia soul, that is!

Brainwave Trivia is so stoked to be a sponsor of the inaugural Sporcle TriviaCon, happening in Vegas from April 3-5. And we’re going to be doing a live game there as well!

Come join us at the Rio All-Suites Hotel for three days of fun and games, and cash prizes. The Brainwave game will hand $250 to the top team, and there’s literally thousands of dollars to be won across the board. Plus, at the Pro-Am, you might have a chance to play with trivia world luminaries like Brad Rutter or Kristin Sausville.

Our game

Get those neurons firing! In a condensed version of Brainwave Trivia’s pub quiz, teams of two to six players will compete in five rounds of trivia in categories from movies to sports to people and places, including a picture round. Each round has 10 questions, all on a different theme. Previous Brainwave Trivia themes include Celebrity Smashup, Guys Named Mike, Podium Toppers and Nobel Prizeworthy. The winning team will earn $250 cash. We’ll be in the Brasilia 2 room from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.

Here’s three questions about Las Vegas to get you warmed up:

  1. The tallest structure in Las Vegas is the 1,149-foot-tall tower of which hotel at the north end of the strip?
  2. Las Vegas saw a huge boom in 1931 – thanks to legalized gambling and the influx of workers who were employed on what massive nearby construction project?
  3. The code for this major international airport in Las Vegas is LAS, chosen for the city rather than the airport’s namesake.

Answers up after Elvis. Because Elvis. Hope to see you at the Rio in April for Sporcle TriviaCon!

Answers:

  1. The Stratosphere
  2. The Hoover Dam
