Name that show: Sitcom Halloween episodes edition

Halloween costume 2019
I love Halloween. I love dressing up. I also love “Stranger Things,” obviously.

I think there’s nothing a sitcom costume department loves more than the Halloween episodes. It’s a chance to be as goofy, as pop culture savvy, and as outlandish as they want to be.

Costumes rule. They’re a chance to unleash that part of your personality that gets suppressed by mortgages and deadlines and grocery lists the rest of the year.

Maybe Halloween costumes aren’t really costumes at all. Maybe the real costumes are the clothes we wear the rest of the year when we’re dressing up as “responsible adults.” I tell you what, I’d rather be wearing a Camp Know Where trucker hat than a business suit any day of the week.

If you were also so influenced by Halloween sitcom episodes, then you should have no problem IDing these shows from their costumed characters:

Answers up after the opening of “The Simpsons” Treehouse of Horror III, in which Bart is dressed like Alex from “A Clockwork Orange.” How anyone was ever fooled into thinking this show was for kids — and why our parents let us watch it — is beyond my comprehension. But thank God they were!

Answers:

  1. “The Fresh Prince of Bel Air”
  2. “Roseanne”
  3. “The Office”
  4. “How I Met Your Mother”
  5. “Cheers”
  6. “Scrubs”
  7. “Blackish”
  8. “It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia”
  9. “That ’70s Show”
  10. “Friends”
  11. Bonus: And that’s “The Big Bang Theory” at the top of the post
