Tom Hanks as Forrest Gump

Name the Tom Hanks movie by the character name

Tom Hanks has starred in a surprising number of movies where his character’s name is in the title: “Forrest Gump,” “Sully,” “Larry Crowne,” “Joe Versus the Volcano,” Charlie Wilson’s War,” “Turner & Hooch,” “Captain Phillips.”

I know this because I’m hard at work on my latest book, “I Want You to Quiz Me as Hard as You Can,” a book about ’90s movie trivia, and WOW, does Tom Hanks show up a lot. I’ve been all over his filmography of late.

So here’s a list of classic Tom Hanks characters, along with year of the film. Name the movies.

  1. Jimmy Dugan (1992)
  2. Ben Bradlee (2017)
