Disneyland rides quiz will make you want to go on vacation

My coworkers were talking in a meeting this morning about the vacations they took this summer: Australia, Canada, England… Those spots sound great, but all the vacation talk made me realize it’s been far too long since I visited the Happiest Place on Earth, one of my favorite vacation destinations. SoCal isn’t in my immediate future, so I wrote a Disneyland rides quiz instead.

I’ve put together my Top 10 list of Disneyland attractions. Based on the clues, can you guess which ones I’m talking about?

(This Disneyland rides quiz covers just the Anaheim park, and doesn’t include California Adventure, home of Soarin’, which is quite possibly my No. 1 ride of all time.)

Questions:

The Disneyland Railroad
I once got to make the announcements on the Disneyland train. It was legit a highlight of my young life.
  1. Disney Imagineers invented an entirely new system, the Enhanced Motion Vehicle, for this ride that debuted in 1995 and is based on a hit movie franchise.
  2. What indoor roller coaster is located in the Tomorrowland area of the park?
  3. An animatronic figure of Johnny Depp as Captain Jack Sparrow was added to what classic boat ride in 2006?
  4. There are two possible tracks to take on this steel track roller coaster, each named after a land of the park, because the attraction straddles the border between two.
  5. In what interactive attraction do riders try to shoot targets with a laser joystick on their vehicle in order to rack up a high score?
  6. The story of this iconic water ride is based on the controversial (and therefore buried) movie “Song of the South.”
  7. This ride is one of the originals from opening day, but it’s changed in tone dramatically: It used to be a serious nature voyage, and now it’s filled with groan-worthy puns and funny ad libbing from the guide.
  8. In what attraction will you find Doom Buggies and 999 ghosts?
  9. In this Mickey’s Toontown attraction, riders can control the rotation of their vehicles, much like riders in the Mad Tea Party over in Fantasyland.
  10. What classic ride that features the work of artist Mary Blair gets a bad rap because of its earworm theme song?
